An integrated approach: Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act (FGA) and the Equality Act

At Sport Wales we strive to create an organisation that promotes equality and considers sustainability and the long-term impact of everything that we do. We aspire to create a diverse and fully inclusive culture where staff feel valued.

Sport Wales' new strategy focuses on a person-centred approach, resource will be used to make sport accessible and relevant for everyone throughout their life. We understand that this can only be achieved if we are to really understand and tackle the inequalities that make it difficult for people to include sport in their day to day lives. We are committed to involving people and want to work in collaboration with a range of organisations to ensure that our decisions are effective for the long term. The work of Sport Wales clearly contributes to the 7 National Well-being Goals (Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act), and through our commitment to meeting the aims of The Equality Act, 2010 we can demonstrate positive action that will contribute to a more equal Wales.

An integrated approach to meeting our duties

Sport Wales strategic intent are also our Well-Being objectives, we are currently working with other public sector bodies to agree a series of high level equality objectives, which will also align to our strategic intent.

In April 2019 we published our first integrated progress report, detailing the positive action that we are taking  to promote the Well-being of Future Generations and to drive Equality.
