Based in central Cardiff, the Sport Wales National Centre is the home of Welsh sport.

It is home to our expert team of sport science and medicine professionals who provide support to athletes in 3 main areas:

Our High Performance Area includes a performance lab, doctors consulting area, physio suite and gym and is home to our nutritionists, strength and conditioning, physiologists and psychologists. The area also houses a gym and there are 2 other gyms within the centre.The centre's recovery suite also houses a hydro-pool and ice baths.

Our performance lifestyle team are also based on site meaning that the centre provides athletes with everything they need to shine on the worlds sporting stage.

The centre is also the administrative home of a number of governing bodies including Welsh Hetball, Hockey Wales and FDSW and also houses a number of world class training facilities:

Gymnastics HallHome of Welsh Gymnastics

This purpose built facility is home to the Welsh Gymnastics Women's Squad and includes a full range of competition and training equipment.

Home of Welsh Boxing

As well as the Welsh Boxing Association being based at the centre, the facility is also the main training facility for Welsh boxers.

Home of Welsh Judo & British Judo Centre of Excellence

This purpose built air conditioned dojo is home to the Welsh Judo and Welsh Wrestling Associations. With a total mat area of 27m x 14m it has 2 judo competition mats and a wrestling mat, the dojo also contains a fully sprung floor.

Shooting RangeHome of Welsh Shooting & British Shooting Academy

There are 2 shooting ranges based at the National Centre. A purpose built 50 metre outdoor facility and 10 metre indoor range both have 6 lanes and are both used as training venues by the Welsh Target Shooting Federation.

Venue for world class sport  

The National Centre regularly hosts international competitions, training camps, coach education, qualifications and individual athlete training. A number of national and international competitions take place throughout the year at the Centre and a number of sports including squash and badminton use the facility as a training venue on a daily basis.
