The Wales National Pool in Swansea is the home of the Welsh Swimming National Performance Centre, a hub for elite and performance swimming in Wales.
Sports science and medical support is provided in agreement with
Sport Wales, while a physiotherapist and a strength and
conditioning practitioner have been employed by Swim Wales to work
at the Performance Centre.
We invest around £900,000 annually into grassroots and elite
swimming in Wales.
Chief Executive Sarah Powell commented:
"We were always clear there is a strong role for Wales to play
in elite swimming. By bringing all the partners together under a
clear plan there will be significant benefits for our own swimmers
and those who choose Wales as their training base.
"The opportunity is there to build on the reputation of Swansea
as a base of excellence and medal winning that we have seen in
The pool is also open to the general public and is home to
Swansea University Swimming and City of Swansea Aquatics Club.
